September 12, 2010  "“Tell Me Why”"

William Ellery Channing, one of the founders of our faith, asserted that religion has little to do with creeds or dogma and much to do with the development of character. Who are the role models for character development? Who are our mentors and teachers? As a recycled schoolteacher, Armida will reflect on the roles of teaching and learning in a lively UU Church. September 19, 2010  "Reflections on General Assembly"

General Assembly, the gathering of UU’s from across the nation was held at the Minneapolis Convention Center this past June. All Souls members attending included: Deb McIntyre, John Hutchinson, Eric Berg, Pat Loughead, Dave and Cheryl Squires, J Murphy and Sue Ann Lang. Each of us attended workshops in our area of interest. Today, Deb, Eric, and Pat will share some of the highlights.

September 26, 2010  "“Trouble Is Our Business”"

Human beings are “born to trouble as the sparks fly upward.” Troubles come in all sizes from little discontents to overwhelming grief. This service will launch our Pastoral Care Team, people trained in the art of listening, to “hear us into wholeness,” or into our spiritual vocation. The question to ask ourselves is, “Is the life I am living the same as the life that wants to live in me?” (Parker J. Palmer, “Let Your Life Speak”)
