The Religious Education program welcomes you. Join us as we discuss and interpret the topic of religion. You won’t be given a theology, but will be encouraged to develop your own. We’ll discuss what you believe and where those ideas came from. Unitarian Universalists view religion as the art and theory of the internal life, not something adopted from others; religion and science discuss the same ideas but just use a different language. This is a chosen faith, and you’ll be given the opportunity to use your own mind to arrive at a rational understanding to your life’s meaning and purpose. Whether you are new to the liberal religious concept or follow a self-described individual approach, you will find a sense of belonging with this caring and nurturing congregation.

Our orientation program will discuss the All Souls Church local history heritage, we’ll review our organizations covenant agreement, bylaw articles, and view the historical and informational DVD “Our American Roots: Unitarian-Universalism in North America” hosted by Reverend Marlin Lavanhar and narrated by Tom Brokaw. Learn how this free liberal approach to religious understanding played an important role guiding our founding leaders. We’ll next read and discuss “A Chosen Faith” by John A. Buehren and Forrest Church and review a study guide which allows an honest review of both your learned and current faith belief practices.

Besides these activities, our Adult RE involvement continues through several other venues.
