HISTORY OF OUR CONGREGATION

All about Eliza...

More info coming soon.

We plan to put our printed materials on the church history online for all to access more easily.

The photo at right is the Rev. Eliza Tupper Wilkes, who founded All Souls Church before South Dakota became a state.

Below is the original All Souls Church building (now demolished) which stood near the present CineDome at the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls. There's a historical marker at the location, on the west side of the CineDome.

Read more here and more here.

Several early women ministers are mentioned here.

More recent history...

At right is "The Pink Church," our former building. We sold our old home at the 9th and Cliff location, when it no longer met our needs and was not accessible to all.

Now, we continue to plan for the future, while we hold services in the beautiful Halladay-Peterson Chapel at Dow Rummel Village (facing Madison Street, at Lake Avenue) just north of Terrace Park and Covell Lake.
